To create a new analysis, complete the following steps:
Adding a new Analysis
You can edit the analysis name by right-clicking on it and selecting Rename.
Before computing the analysis, you need to decide which data will be used for it, by setting the datasets and channels as inputs.
To calculate the results, you need to define which operational datasets are used for the analysis.
To set operational datasets as inputs, complete the following steps:
Operational datasets are set as analysis inputs.
You can select multiple datasets and adding or removing them from the inputs by pressing the SPACEBAR.
To calculate the results, you need to define which FRF datasets are used for the analysis.
Using test assemblies, you can set one FRF to be used for calculating the Blocked Forces (characterization FRF) and the others for the TPA syntheses (synthesis FRF). This is useful when calculating Blocked Forces with one setup and using them for TPA synthesis in other target assemblies. To set the test assemblies correctly, you can find instructions at this link.
To set FRF datasets as inputs, complete the following steps:
FRF datasets are set as analysis inputs.
After deciding which operational and FRF datasets are used for the analysis, you also need to set the channels that will be used as inputs.
To set the input channels, complete the next steps:
Channel inputs for the analysis
You can select multiple channels and adding or removing them from the inputs by pressing the SPACEBAR.
One of the strong features of SOURCE is the ability to perform several analyses on any combination of datasets. By right-clicking on an analysis in the Analyses card and selecting Duplicate, we create a duplicate analysis. We can then change, for example, the matrix inverse settings or the forces used in the TPA, and easily see what effect this has on the results.
